The MacBook Pro 14’ (M3) is a simply wonderful computer which our team at Tablet Rentals loves.
Whilst the MacBook Pro hasn’t changed its dimensions since the M2 version; it’s still very light at 3.4 pounds and it still measures 12.3 x 8.7 x 0.6 inches. However, there have been lots of significant upgrades which we feel make the 14’ MacBook Pro (M3) a great laptop.
The MacBook Pro 14’ (M3) is extremely quick (especially in graphics) which with the new M3 Chip is no surprise and it has the performance to tackle any creative tasks.
For us at Tablet Rentals, we love the new design of the ports, which for our creatives is extremely important. Instead of featuring just two Thunderbolt ports and an audio jack which the MacBook Pro 13’ (M1 Chip) featured, the MacBook Pro 14’ (M3) has a MagSafe connector, an HDMI port, an audio jack, 2 or 3 Thunderbolt USB-C ports (3 on the Pro model) and finally Apple has introduced an SD card reader. This is undoubtedly a big step forward, although we hope Apple introduces additional USB-C ports to future MacBook Pro versions.
Gone is the TouchBar of the 13″ MacBook Pro (M1), which had mixed reviews from our creative users. Now there is an impressive function key row, which are useful and one particular featyure that our Tablet Rentals team enjoys is the microphone mute button.
A few other points to note; the display screen is fantastic. Whilst it’s not OLED, the liquid Retina XDR display continues to shine with much better graphics and the speakers on a MacBook Pro are still the best speakers in a laptop. Battery life is extremely impressive as well.
