Apple as continually changed the iPad Air over the years. Tablet Rentals started hiring the initial iPad Air since it was launched in November 2013, over 11 years ago.
Since 2013 the iPad Air has been re-invented on numerous occasions. Initially, the iPad Air and iPad Air 2 was produced as iPad 9.7’ device. This served Apple well until March 2019 when Apple released the iPad Air 3 (10.5’).
The iPad Air 3 is still a great device in 2025 and runs on the latest IOS 18. However, in March 2020 and March 2022, Apple released the IPad Air 4 and the iPad Air 5 – both 10.9’ iPads.
These are excellent iPad tablets and the iPad Air 5 has the powerful M1 chip, so it should be no surprise that Apple has released a new iPad Air (M2 chip) for 2025. Whilst the new iPad Air runs on an M2 chip the iPad Air is essentially the same size as the iPad Air 5 at 11’, although a larger iPad Air 13’ is also available.
